"Web Surfing with Us" is  Kazem Ghalamchi's virtual library, which includes recent and influential articles about educational advancements around the world. Surfing this unique library, I came across an interestingresearch about a teacher-evaluation program, called Impact, conducted in the District of Columbia school system in the US. That program seemed to improve teaching quality – as measured by classroom observations and test scores– of teachers. However, the researchers are not confident with their result, because it is not based on a representative sample.

 

But, in Kanoon we use robust methods to assess all of our teachers' performance in regular bases. I understood the strength of these methods, when comparing the teaching-evaluation used in Kanoon's schools of Saray Danesh with the American schools, studied in the above research. Kanoon schools use several special and systematic measures and indicators to evaluate their teachers' performance. One indicator is a report produced by a Personal Tutor, who attends each class every day. This indicator is regarded as the daily class observation, which is also reported to the school principals and the students' parents. The second indicator is the students' score in Breakfast Exams that captures the teachers performance every day morning. Accordingly, I believe that this robust teacher-evaluation program, applied in Kanoon can be used in other countries to improve teachers' and students' performance.
